NCIT held Certificate Awarding Ceremony at Fuvahmulah

National Center for Information Technology has held a Certificate awarding ceremony on 26th October 2015 to award Certificate to e-citizen Trainees. More than 80 individuals completed the e-citizens training and received the certificates. The ceremony was held at Fuvahmulah Youth Centre Class Room. President of Dhadimagu Council Mr. Hussain Fahumee was the Chief Guest. Coordinator for ICT incubator Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim gave an overview of the e-citizen training program and some of the other training programs that are being conducted at Fuvahmulah IT Incubator. In his speech he highlighted and thanked the continued support received from Fuvahmulah Youth Centre, Fuvahmulah Sports Club and Sports Club Tiber in making the program a success. Chief Guest Hussain Fahumee President of Dhadimagu Council highlighted the importance of ICT for a progressive digital society. He said that with improvements in information technology we should also consider the advantages and disadvantages of using the Technology.

The e-CITIZEN programme focuses on the candidate’s skills and knowledge in essential computer and internet use and gives them the confidence to participate in society as an e-citizen. The programme aims to make candidates aware of available online information and service resources from a wide variety of areas including: news, government, consumer, travel, education/training, employment, health and business. The candidate will be able to confidently interact with online service providers and carry out routine tasks such as buying a CD or book, paying a e-bill, banking online, paying tax, e-mailing, or making a holiday reservation.
