E-GOVERNMENT DEPLOYMENT AT GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

Procedure

 

  1. Fill in the administrator account creation form and send it to NCIT. Authorisation part of this form should be provided by the head of the organisation or the Permanent Secretary.
  2. Send the organization structure to NCIT. This should include all the departments, and there sections and the numbers used for each of them. Each organization administrator can latter change these according to the changes in their organization.
  3. The administrator for each organization, get the user account creation form filled in by each member of the organization and authorized by the head of authorized department of the organization.
  4. The administrator for each organization create the user accounts for each user, fill in the user issuing form and issue the user account.
  5. Start using the government letter management system (Mail Management).

 

GENERAL INFORMATION ON E-GOVERNMENT

E-Government  is the use of Information Technology to enhance the access to and delivery of government services to benefit citizens, business partners and employees.
It aims to help strengthen governments drive towards effective governance and increased transparency to better manage a country’s social and economic resources for development.

WHY E-GOVERNMENT?    


Government plans to provide modern convenience to the people and considers e-Government as one of the key initiatives to deliver a better quality of life to the people. e-Government has the potential to overcome the many challenges faced in the development of Maldives by bringing the delivery of public information and services to the island communities and by allowing different communities to interact online.

GOALS OF E-GOVERNMENT

  • Citizens online, not in line - The effective delivery of information and services to citizens online via single point of access. Citizens can interact with the government online without waiting in a queue.
  • Improving the access to government services to all communities - Making the services of the government available to the people at anytime, anywhere. It brings the information and services closer to the people.
  • Improving the productivity and efficiency of government agencies - Simplify government processes and procedures by reengineering for better processes and procedures to improve the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of the government services.
  • Creating a better business environment - Help to create a business friendly environment by streamlining the interaction and improving the interface between government and business efficient delivery of services.
