The National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) has conducted a training session on using the Open Source Desktop Operating System “Ubuntu” for administrative usage in Government. This session held on 15th December 2011 was attended by 14 staff from 13 government agencies.

The aim of this training program was to introduce open source software as a viable alternative to proprietary software for general purpose desktop environment in the government. During this session participants were introduced to the features and use of Ubuntu.
